Torre Raone is located in the Abruzzo region, between the Gran Sasso natural park, the Laga mountains and the nature reserve of Penne. It is situated on the sunny hills of Loreto Aprutino at a height of 350 metres above sea level. The estate measures 35 hectares, certified by AIAB for organic agriculture. Thirty hectares are especially suited as regards Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Three hectares are dedicated to the production of olive oil.

Our history
The tower from which the estate takes its name rises from an old fortification, dominating the surrounding area. It was erected in the 11th century by Raone of Poliziano, a descendant of Tancred Duke of Normandy. In those days the Normans had come to aid the local people in liberating themselves from the Byzantines.

Our agricultural methods are of a completely non-agressive nature, focusing on bringing out the characteristic, autochtonous features of our grapes and olives alike. This is achieved as well by reducing yields to quantities that are considerably below the officially allowed parameters.
In producing wine, the use of barriques is strictly limited, in order not to overpower the delicate, elegant scents and natural taste our wines have to offer. Choosing to do so, enables us to offer our clients products that are truly unique and therefore stand out from the crowd.
